What is Potenza™?
PotenzaTM (Cynosure, Massachusetts, USA) is a Radiofrequency Microneedling device that has been approved by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
PotenzaTM uses insulated gold microneedles that emit radiofrequency energy to promote collagen remodelling and synthesis in the skin.

Unlike other skin rejuvenation procedures, PotenzaTM Microneedling treatment can be used on any skin type, anywhere on the body, and at any time of year.

Each Potenza™ treatment session typically take around 20 – 30min, depending on treatment area.
An improvement in skin quality can be seen as early as 1 week after the treatment, with best results seen 1-2 months after the full treatment and lasting for 1-2 years (or more with diligent skincare).
Though the advantage of PotenzaTM compared to a laser treatment is that it can be performed on any skin type, anywhere on the body, anytime of the year
Absolute contraindications for the treatment include:
- Pacemaker
- Keloid formation
- Active skin infection
For best results, 3 to 6 treatment sessions spaced 1 month apart are recommended.
You will experience a light pricking sensation which most patients describe as almost painless. As pain tolerance vary among individuals, our doctors may apply anaesthetic cream to make the procedure more comfortable.
There is minimal downtime and you can resume your normal activities immediately, though after treatment your face may be red and feels tight. You will be given a recovery serum to use for the next 3 days together with moisturizer and sunblock. Most patients report that their skin returns to normal after 3-5 days.
PotenzaTM is generally a safe procedure.
Immediately after the procedure, there might be some slight bruising, pain and swelling around the treated areas, but these are merely temporary and will heal quickly.
